Study Medical In Italy

Certainly, the name of medicine pushes the mentality of each person towards hard and long work, long-term education, very complex entrance exams, and so on. But in the end, this discipline is worth a lot of hardship and is one of the most charismatic and lucrative disciplines in the world. Applying to medical school is not a superficial and easy task and you have to choose your place of study wisely. One of the best places to enter this field is to study in medical schools in Italy, which uses the Numerus Clausus system (maximum number of fixed admissions to a university institution) during and after the study. This has led to the development of highly skilled physicians and has made Italy one of the most popular destinations for medical studies. The medical course in Italy is a six-year course followed by a six-month clinical internship taught in both English and Italian at Italian universities.

To enter the medical schools of Italy, it is necessary for the applicants to obtain an acceptable score in the entrance exam called IMAT.

IMAT – International Medical Admission Test

The Cambridge Department of Assessment and Admissions has been working with the Italian Ministry of Science (MIUR) for several years to conduct the IMAT test. This test is a 100-minute test for applicants entering the fields of medicine, surgery and dentistry. The exam materials for this course are 100% in English and are held every year in many countries, and applicants from any country can participate in the authorized centers for holding this exam all over the world.

IMAT test format

This test is a pen and paper test. This means that the applicant must attend the test session and receive and answer the questions in the form of a form (exactly like the national entrance examination of Iran). Unlike some exams such as GRE or IELTS which can be held both at the request of the applicant and in computer form or on paper.

The IMAT test consists of 60 multiple-choice questions that are divided into four main sections. All questions include 5 options, only one of which is correct. The time required to answer the questions is 100 minutes.

The first part of the exam:

10 questions – Logical Reasoning (Evaluation of logical reasoning and data analysis and inference)

12 questions – General Knowledge

Part1 - Italy medical

Part 2 :

18 Questions – Biology

Third part:

12 questions – Chemistry

Section 4:

8 questions – Physics and Mathematics

Part4 - Italy medical

You should note that the number of questions in each section of the exam may change each year. For this purpose, you can visit the test specification section of the website www.admissionstestin.org before registering.

How to score and test results:

The exam scoring formula is calculated as follows:

5 points for each question with the correct answer
5- Score for each question with incorrect answer
0 points for each unanswered question
Usual date of IMAT exam and participation fee:
Each applicant needs to pay the following to participate in the IMAT exam:
114 British pounds
130 Euro
US $ 164

Who can take the IMAT test?

People with a 12-year diploma (in the old education system for diploma and pre-university degree holders) from any field can take the exam as long as they have sufficient knowledge in biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics and English.

This test has no age requirements and participants of any age can be candidates for the test.

How to prepare for the IMAT test?

The good news is that the IMAT test does not require round-the-clock study (candidates are already familiar with the concepts being asked in the test). The level of IMAT exam is easier than the national entrance exam that is held in our country, but this does not mean that you can expect to answer the questions without any study.

Applicants can easily access sample exam questions that are published annually on the Cambridge website and become familiar with the exam format.

Fortunately, all IMAT exam topics are in the experimental high school textbooks. However, it is recommended that candidates check their exam materials each year from the files provided by the universities and the Cambridge site.

All IMAT test resources can be purchased from the Iran-Italy Institute.
